If the grid frequency drops below 59.4 hertz, the clock starts ticking.

It's the adaptive 1 to 120 hertz.

And also, I hate high refresh rate, so it's gotta be 60 hertz.

It's funny, we always used to have that "Oh, regular people don't care about 120 hertz" argument.

The rooms we're in are not very bright, but this maxes out at 500 nits and it's a little higher than 1440p resolution at 60 hertz.

But before grid operators could shed enough load from the system, the frequency of the alternating current dropped as the remaining generators were bogged down, falling below 59.4 hertz for over 4 minutes.
