On large pipelines, engineers not only design the components, but develop the requirements for operation of the equipment.

Consider a pipeline moving water from one end of a hill to the other.

So, many pipelines are equipped with automatic air release valves.

Installing an underground pipeline through the heart of a major urban area while crossing three rivers is not a simple task.

You can see why designing a pipeline or pipe network can be a little more complicated than it seems.

However, in large pipelines that can contain enormous volumes of fluid, reversing a pump can be the equivalent of slamming a freight train into a brick wall.

Plus, these fuels can be moved using tanks and pipelines we already have.

Like, that was just the pipeline.

Even if workers at critical jobs like power plants, pipelines, and substations still have gas in their vehicles, they are having a really hard time actually getting to work.
